Mango

Mango is the marmalade cat,
green-eyed feline aristocrat
with orange fur and pale whiskers,
never avoiding raw combat.
Mango rules over his domain,
ev’ry scurrying creature’s bane,
reigning lands with his iron paw
from Mount Couch to Bedchamber Plain.
His pelt luxurious and soft,
a prize worth any poacher’s cost
yet always too quick to be caught
this prince of attic and hayloft.
Fair Mango strides ‘cross counter tops
upon his silver regal socks.
