I have always had a fascination with these apex predators. The title 'Shadows' belies the somewhat curious and yet slightly menacing presence of these beautiful sharks. I particularly like the hammerheads' markedly tall, curved, first dorsal fin.
Its hammer-shaped head, an amazing piece of anatomy built to maximise the fish's ability to find its favourite meal: stingrays, is wide enough to trap rays by pinning them to the seafloor.
