While in my element, I created this amazing work. I was inspired by a farm property on the Kumbia/Brooklands Rd, South Burnett, Queensland. It forms part of a series, others depicting Whistling Ducks, historical farming practice etc. of that area.

My love of chicken began back in the 1990s when we had several pet chickens, each with its own name. One was named Alma (which we borrowed from a Zoo … and never gave back), the others were rescue chicks. One was named Gertrude.

I am happy, that within this work, I have created an apparent 3D element to the rendering, but in reality, the work is like that of a ‘normal’ oil painting.

I have created this work using artist quality oil paint. The work is durable, having been created on heavy duty, 12ounce canvas. The work (2) is ready for hanging.
