Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

This painting was inspired by a visit to Healesville Sanctuary in outer Melbourne. I took several photos of the lorikeets as I love birds and even got to feed them. I chose to keep most of the natural colours of the bird but then added some stencils using spray paint to add some fun just like these cheeky birds.

All art by Janicke Johansen

An abstract work with curved shapes similar to flowers and leaves with varying patterns inside them. The background is a solid apple green colour and the whole piece reminds me of an overgrown garden, neglected by humans but still very much alive. This artwork has an opaque cherry-coloured background with large abstracted shapes as the main part. These shapes are reminiscent of Mid Century and Scandinavian designs with curves and stylised forms. The patterns inside the shapes are predominately olive green, yellow, blue, and black. The painting has stylised shapes akin to mid-century design that are curved and simple. The main shapes are daisies and then there are curved "U" type shapes and smaller geometric shapes. All are made up of abstract patterns coloured in soft greens, purples, and blues. The background is a soft pale opaque yellow.
