Created using a live model, the aim for this painting was to stay loose with my brushwork while retaining the emotion in the expression.
Jemma Cakebread is a Melbourne based artist currently working with oil painting and textiles. She drew on everything from books to walls as a kid and kept it up to adulthood, eventually completing further education in the arts against careers advice at highschool. She listens to true crime podcasts while she paints, dislikes going to her own exhibition openings and takes terrible care of her paintbrushes.
