Ideas of the movement of the flesh and skeleton under the skin often informs my work.Through this work I explored the looseness and tautness of the figure. The column of the arm supports the weight of the torso and legs, which drape to the floor.

Jemma Cakebread is a Melbourne based artist currently working with oil painting and textiles. She drew on everything from books to walls as a kid and kept it up to adulthood, eventually completing further education in the arts against careers advice at highschool. She listens to true crime podcasts while she paints, dislikes going to her own exhibition openings and takes terrible care of her paintbrushes.
