I created this painting during an artist retreat to a cabin in the Dandenongs. I wanted to highlight the beauty of the model while emphasizing my brushstrokes, resulting in a lively and textured portrait.

She drew on everything from books to walls as a kid and kept it up to adulthood, eventually completing further education in the arts against careers advice at highschool. She listens to true crime podcasts while she paints, dislikes going to her own exhibition openings and takes terrible care of her paintbrushes.
