Many layers of paint make up this depiction of a many layered landscape, in a creek bed in Central Australia. colours and shapes of rocks, sand and vegetation. The painting celebrates the complexity of this beautiful and varied landscape through an abstracted depiction of a scene from the West Macdonnell Ranges. Up close there is a lot of detail to see, with mark making throughout the painting guaranteeing new discoveries will be made on different viewings of the painting. It is finished with a varnish and the sides painted white, although with some of the under layers remaining visible when viewed close up.
It can be provided in a floating pine frame, but can be hung with or without this frame, or could instead be framed in another timber.
