Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the back.

The striking red of this artwork is it's central feature, with different reds leading the eye all around the painting, where your eye may land on the patches of green, a perfect complement to the red. Blue sky areas introduce calming spaces, accentuating the interesting shapes of the imagined rockface. While not depicting an actual location, it draws inspiration from art trips to Central Australia and Arkaroola in Sought Australia. The artwork has been painted abstractly, the rockface emerging from many layers of markmaking, drawing and painting. The sides are painted white, so it can be hung as is, or framed as in the in situ photos.

Abstracted landscape showing a valley with trees Abstracted landscape in muted colours. There are lots of triangular shapes and lines. A quite dark painting, with a large section of bright golden ochre, and lots of nuance in colour and tone throughout. It suggests an outback landscape. A loose, expressive painting of trees in the Australian landscape, largely in pinks and purples, with some earth coloured pigments and textures to ground the scene.
