This colourful abstract painting was inspired by the colours of a mango sorbet. From a series of artworks that, to steal a phrase from Marie Kondo, 'sparked joy'. Little beacons of painted happiness, full of colour and celebrating the good things about summer.

Artist Bio

Jennifer Bell's artwork is an invitation into a world of colour, texture and pattern. Inspired by the rhythms and structures found throughout the natural world, she creates richly layered works that encourage viewers to slow down and discover new details over time. Working across painting, collage and textiles, her practice explores the connections between nature, perception and abstraction.

Living with the rare neurological condition Visual Snow has influenced the way Jennifer observes her surroundings, drawing her attention to movement, repetition and the layers of pattern that often go unnoticed. Through an intuitive process of painting, cutting, weaving and stitching, her work is inspired by the patterns and textures found in both the natural world and the spaces we inhabit.

Jennifer holds a degree in Fine Art and previously owned and operated a gallery in Wellington, New Zealand. Today, she works full-time from her Brisbane studio, with artworks held in private and corporate collections across Australia, New Zealand, North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Her practice ranges from small works to large scale commissions for homes, public spaces and interior projects, and her work has been selected for commercial projects internationally.
