Artwork Description

This abstract painting inspired by the rhythmic movement of ocean waves and the fleeting play of light across the water's surface. Layers of turquoise, aqua and deep blue sweep across the canvas in gentle horizontal bands, creating a sense of rolling swells stretching towards the horizon.
Hundreds of delicate circular marks shimmer throughout the composition, echoing the way sunlight dances across waves as they rise and fall. The repetition of these marks creates a subtle sense of movement and energy, inviting the viewer to experience the ebb and flow of the sea.

Artist Bio

Jennifer Bell's artwork is an invitation into a world of colour, texture and pattern. Inspired by the rhythms and structures found throughout the natural world, she creates richly layered works that encourage viewers to slow down and discover new details over time. Working across painting, collage and textiles, her practice explores the connections between nature, perception and abstraction.

Living with the rare neurological condition Visual Snow has influenced the way Jennifer observes her surroundings, drawing her attention to movement, repetition and the layers of pattern that often go unnoticed. Through an intuitive process of painting, cutting, weaving and stitching, her work is inspired by the patterns and textures found in both the natural world and the spaces we inhabit.

Jennifer holds a degree in Fine Art and previously owned and operated a gallery in Wellington, New Zealand. Today, she works full-time from her Brisbane studio, with artworks held in private and corporate collections across Australia, New Zealand, North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Her practice ranges from small works to large scale commissions for homes, public spaces and interior projects, and her work has been selected for commercial projects internationally.
