The main influence for this work is my deeply held wonderful memories of a childhood spent living near the ocean. The idea of that powerful & rhythmic movement of the waves & the energy this action creates. The work is a symbolic response to the idea of this energy flowing from one source to empower another entity. I've used a restricted, cool palette of blue & white in response to the subject matter. My intention was to give focus to the marks produced by use of numerous palette knives, again reflecting the ocean's energy.
