'Sanctuary' is a reimagined abstract form exploring the unique natural flora of Australia, in particular our Eucalyptus forests.
The work attempts to capture the harmony of nature's palette, using muted greys, and greens with touches of pink & mauve. My intention was to evoke that immense sense of stillness and beauty of these forests using subtle colors, sweeping strokes and layered textural marks. These abstract, gestural marks are a reflection of the everchanging interplay between the light and dappled shadows found within this natural sanctuary.
