This painting is of a coastal path leading through sand dunes down to the water's edge. My inspiration was the many coastal walks that I have undertaken along the south and west coasts of Australia. Often our beaches are sandy and devoid of rocks, but this particular beach was very rocky and probably not an ideal for swimming in, but it still maintained a beauty that I felt was worth capturing.
