“Wishing it would Rain” Wandering through the bush on a hot day the landscape felt as though it was crying out for rain. Back in the studio this feeling was still with me which stirred hazy images imprinted throughout my subconscious of hot days in summers past. These recollections are caught within this unconscious field, layered with distant memories and emotions, mirroring the flow of paint as it too follows its own path, slowly revealing a composition of abstract forms while conveying a sense of time and place.

In my work "Up the Hill" I embark on a visual journey that captures the dynamic interplay of colour, form, and movement in the context of ascending landscapes. Based on childhood memories of wandering up the hill near our home, this piece is aimed to inspire viewers to embrace their own journeys, to look upward with optimism, and to appreciate the ever-changing landscapes that shape our lives. I have used the brushwork, and layering to evoke a sense of energy, growth, and the upward journey toward new horizons. In this abstract work, I explore the profound idea that sometimes it is through the cracks and the imperfections that the most profound beauty and illumination can be found. In this work “Crack Where the Light gets In” I invite you to journey with me into the cracks, where the light gets in, and share my creative process with the interplay of light and shadow, colour and texture.
Like the cracks in a rock, my abstract compositions offer spaces for introspection and self-discovery, allowing the viewer to glimpse the hidden facets of their own inner landscape.
Ghost gums have many stories to tell but these have no leaves so remain silent. In "Silent Forest," my aim is to capture the intangible feeling that exists between the stillness and harmony found within the heart of the forest. Through abstraction, I embark on a contemplative journey through an ancient landscape, where viewers can lose themselves amidst the layers of paint and emerge with a renewed appreciation for the silent beauty that surrounds us.An original abstract Seascape in Acrylic painted on archival canvas ready to hang.
