The story behind this painting is my infatuation with a new colour that I was experimenting with called cobalt violet. This genuine pigment from Winsor and Newton is one of the most expensive you can buy. The results of this experiment were very pleasing, with a painting that began to vibrate with a violet hue. Additionally, the ratio of this canvas lends itself well to the subject, aiding in the expression of the expansive distance.
