Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
The landscape depicted is taken from an aerial photo the Mt. Sinai region in Egypt. I was totally captivated by the myriad of details and the majestic nature of the landscape.
The ghostly column on the left is Ancient Roman while the curved corner piece is based on Arabic art. The range of flowers are mostly based on those found in the Mediterranean. The pool at the bottom centre was inspired by watching the 1968 Film ‘Boom!’.
This work harkens back to earlier, heavily Arabic/Middle Eastern paintings from the late 1990s/early 2000s and I referenced some details from conceptual sketches produced for a number of those works.
Ready to hang with strong wire/d-rings on back.
