A Macaw, Marvelous Spatuletail Hummingbird and Greenfinch fly above.
‘To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, to draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life.’
This quote is from a wonderful film called ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’. The film shows the contrast of a nine to five job and chasing your imagination. Mitty’s drive takes him to Greenland, Iceland, and the Himalayas seeking out photojournalist Sean O’Connell for Life Magazine. The story reflects the struggle of regular life and possibilities of more. From this I have split Life’s motto into three artworks that explore life in different places around the world and reflect the beauty in nature and culture found in travel.
