Fall

This is part of a series I did exploring the relationships between order and chaos and colour and form.

I generally begin with no idea where the painting is going, (i.e. chaos) and let the painting decide for me.

Although these paintings are abstract, I find, inevitably, my mind wants to make connections and draw objects and ideas out from the nothingness.

In this case, the painting became a waterfall.

I am an independent artist and musician living in Melbourne.

I studied Fine Arts at COFA in Sydney before moving to Melbourne to study English and Philosophy. Since then I have been working as both a musician and an artist and I feel that all each art form informs the other.

I mostly make abstract or semi-abstract pieces using acrylic paints, however I have been experimenting more and more with collage recently as well as working more from prompts such as flowers and landscapes.
