‘I’ll take you on a stroll
We’ll go through the bush track
Footprints left in dirt are soon left in sand
As you hear the waves crashing closer,
And the sea salt fills your air
We walk a sand dune in reverse
Journey down with each step a scorching burn
A bitter-sweet burn
Arriving at the waters edge the sea-touched sand brings relief
But we’ll return to the dunes,
To sit, to gaze, to reminisce
Until the days sun is no more
And the burn is no more
But rest assure we’ll walk the track again

Warm tones of brown, pink and red contrasted with the soothing greens allow you to see an Australian landscape, to link it to a place you know, maybe a childhood memory which is what the artists connection is to the artwork.
The gold creates a glimmer that brightens the composition, that gives you the sense of warmth being magical; the ‘Sunburnt sand dunes’ may be harsh but they are of majesty sparkling in the sunlight reflecting on passing moments.
