Australia has a lot of unique, endemic birds.
The Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, known to bird lovers around the world. The Lyrebird, a shy ground dwelling bird, which has the ability to mimic sounds of the environment it lives in. It has exquisite tail feathers, which the male displays during the mating season. The Brush Turkey is a large bird that lives in rain forests and has a bare red head with yellow coloured wattles on its neck.
It is always such a happy occasion for me when I come across any of those birds on my frequent walking trips through the forests.
