I am a mostly self-taught artist but I have learnt a lot from attending many workshops and demonstrations and I like to think I will never stop learning. My preferred mediums are Pastel and Oil, Pen+ Wash, occasionally Watercolours and more recently Acrylics. My style is best described as Realist Impressionist. My subject matter is quite varied as I find interesting subjects everywhere-- landscapes, seascapes, streetscapes, Still Life, figurative,
animals/birds etc. Painting portraits has always been on my 'to do' list and I have been exploring portraiture more over the last couple of years. I work mainly from my home studio but occasional painting en plein air is a joy and in itself enhances my studio work. In recent years I have also taken up doing my own framing.
I am a member of the Pastel Society of Victoria (Australia) and of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists ( AGRA Inc).
