Emus have always fascinated me. I live surrounded by the Australian Bush with Emus roaming. The Emu's stretched-neck perspective on life causes me to reflect and broaden my own world view.
The sparsity of the Australian Outback gloriously showcases the colour, diversity and personality of its natural inhabitants, that it so lovingly supports. Its very isolation breathes life into even the most inanimate of objects. Abandoned windmills, broken down cars, an animal carcass, all serve and collaborate to bring the artwork of nature to my eye.
Despite man's constant search to harness nature, the True Australians, our emus, lizards and kangaroos, stand strong and inspire me to paint them in the vibrant colours of their habitat.
