Trecking in the Nanda Devi region of the India Himalaya in 2017 it was wonderful to see these native wild iris's growing everywhere above about 3,500mt. This painting is based on a photo taken early in the morning as the sun lit a patch of these beautiful blooms.

The beautiful designs of Italian Playing cards date back to the Renaissance. This set of four hand coloured and hand drawn lithographs is from the 'Bastone' suite of the classic Napoletane deck. I became fascinated with the beautiful designs when learning to play the traditional Italian card game of 'Scopa' and this set of four lithographs is an expression of my interest in these playing card designs.
