Artwork Description

This work is based on a shot I took in Hong Kong in the 1990's. It's of the stairs at Mid Levels on Hong Kong Island. These have since been replaced by a huge escalator. Also of note is that being mid 1990's no one has a smart phone in their hand.

The beautiful designs of Italian Playing cards date back to the Renaissance. This set of four hand coloured and hand drawn lithographs is from the 'Bastone' suite of the classic Napoletane deck. I became fascinated with the beautiful designs when learning to play the traditional Italian card game of 'Scopa' and this set of four lithographs is an expression of my interest in these playing card designs. Full set of 4 prints $350.The beautiful designs of Italian Playing cards date back to the Renaissance.
