This is a painting of the Organ Pipes at the local National Park in Melbourne, Victoria. They are basalt columns of rock formed over thousands of years by lava cooling in crevices in the earth - an amazing site. I wanted to capture the vertical structure of the landscape as I walked down the rocky path towards it. The painting is layered with complementary colors and then scratched back in the drawing stages to reveal the surface background colors.
- This comes with string/wire on the back to hang the artwork.
- Painting is unframed but it can be framed with white, black, or raw timber float frame before it's shipped. Frame costs an additional $130.
- The sides of the canvas are painted as well.
- Signed at the back with my name, date, and artwork title.
- In Situ photo not to scale.
