Greenhood orchids are amongst the most widespread of our native terrestrial orchids. This species, the Blunt Greenhood Orchid (Pterostylis curta), has a characteristic brownish, twisted labellum. It is common along the east coast of Australia but relatively rare in South Australia. This specimen from the Adelaide Hills is drawn here at about 5 times life size with artist-quality coloured pencils on Stonehenge cotton rag, then framed with raw timber behind anti-reflective and UV-protective glass. A perfect piece for any intimate space.
