Against the background of the mist that blankets the Tasmanian Highlands a single tree stands guard, a sentinel to the horizon as the dark clouds close in. Symbolising both the permanence and fragility of the landscape, I made this tree a focal point of the vista to emphasize that once destroyed this landscape can never be reclaimed.
