It was gentle autumn in the beautiful Tamar Valley after a cool, clear day spent on the Forest trails around Jackeys Marsh. As the evening dusk brought a glow to the landscape’s blues and greens, a blanket of high, thin cloud filled the sky from the North. I wanted in my painting to capture forever that moment of action in tranquility, showing that even in a landscape carefully crafted by farming the mysterious can still happen.
