Minimalist and colour blocking are not often two words you'll find in the same sentence. That's because colours have a huge impact on our perception of space. Because of this, a minimalist might shudder at the thought of adding too much colour, let alone colour blocking. But that doesn't mean it can't be done. The trick is to keep it simple. Colour adds a lot to a space, so there's no need to add detail. Let the colour do the talking for you.
Found along the east coast of Australia, the flame tree is famous for the bright red bell-shaped flowers that often cover the whole tree when it is leafless. Flame trees do not always flower annually and put on their best display maybe only once every five years, especially after a hot dry summer. "Flame Trees" is a song made famous by Australian pub rock band Cold Chisel.

This original artwork is created by layer upon layer of bold colour blocks to create a bright vibrant and unique artwork. Each original artwork takes 7 to 10 days to complete, layering colours one at a time waiting for them to dry before moving on to the next colour and layer. When the bold colour blocks are completed and the artwork has cured, black keylines are applied to make the artowrk "pop". Finally, two layers of finishing medium are applied before the final layer of a combination of satin and gloss varnish.
