Artwork Description

Ready to hang -Black box frame, artist quality acid free white mat, perspex
'Cover Me in Sunshine. Invisible Women Series #2', celebrates the everyday and the ordinary.

Embracing and featuring the 'invisible' with colour and new life.
Hand cut collage using gloss photo paper and perforated with ordered small cutouts like windows illuminated with recycled and vintage papers

Collage especially allows a reworking and pastiche to make a new story or 'paint' a new picture. I use the process and opportunities that collage allows and embrace using and recycling vintage papers and magazines - often vintage French fashion magazines and discarded books from the 1950's and 1960's - the ephemeral and the discarded. That which is fleeting or passing and impermanent and giving new life and form - a new story.

My smaller collage studies are often the first steps and stepping off points for larger works and new series. I am a painter by degree and really love the process of painting, however, I love paper. I adore the unlimited possibilies of using paper and the process of analogue collage, showcasing these historical raveges and marks of time with using vintage and recycled papers.

All artwork taken without perspex to minimise reflection - artworks subsequently look even better under the perspex!
