Using the Wiradjuri symbol for star this artwork is a story of dreams, our own and those we have for others.
Titled with the Wiradjuri word 'Wumba' pronounced woom-ba for 'Evening stars' and lyrics from 'I've Had The Time Of My Life ' Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes
Music can transport us to a time / place/ emotion . Using lyrics is my contemporary representation of the tradition in Aboriginal culture where music is used to map landscape.
Exploring the connection between landscape and memory and more specifically the remnants and traces left in environments either in a physical form or as emotion.
Aboriginal peoples have walked this country for thousands of years, leaving tracks which are both tangible and spiritual.
I challenge the idea of ' Past' as something no longer existing. I believe it remains,in our memory and the land.In what we see and what we cannot.
