I’m so frequently inspired when I’m kayaking that I mostly take photos and don’t end up kayaking very far. This painting is prompted by Sydney’s gorgeous Middle Harbour. I have laid down a base of mainly phthalo blue, which is such a versatile colour and then tried to capture the character of the waterways. This is an acrylic painting on gessoed Masonite, a very stable and archival material. It needs to be cradled or framed in order for it to be hung.
