Sunset; so beautiful - like two worlds converging: day and night meeting at one, light and dark intersecting, my thoughts wonder.
The mighty mountains in the background, I wonder what they are feeling? Such might, such strength, yet the inability to wonder; wonder the earth and all it brings us. Inability to run their hands through leaves, and hear their rustle as if they are speaking to us. Inability to smell and feel the wind playing a song with subtle notes, as if with a harp - so sublime it brings tears to the eyes. Yet with their noble, patient nature, they contribute to us, and the eternal beauty roaming the planet. They are looking over us, providing safety and comfort.
The Sunset. It inspires me - like some uncontained and wild flame has flared inside of me I feel joy, uncontained joy and freedom. Escaping from the containment of my cosy house I feel an urge to depict this, all of it. And so, joined by the playing of the wind, who with him brings my dear friends: budgies, singing harmoniously in a choir; I paint. I paint the mountains - so strong but patient, I paint my friends who share the view with me, I paint the fragile Proteas, bringing colour to the world. I feel at peace with nature, as the harmony fills me up with joy.
