‘Blooming on Country’
Muggadah is known as the Jamieson Valley on my Country. That is where we would live during the autumn/winter months and then as soon as the Spring/Summer came around, we would move to the higher parts of country to escape the heat. We would enjoy the pristine waterfalls and indulge in a varieties of wild berries, flowers and honey.
The black wattle was used as the indicator to move from Muggadah to Kedumba (Katoomba).
The banksias were used as a source of fire all year round.
The sweet and refreshing nectar of the bottle brushes made it a treat to eat on Country.
When country was in Bloom, we had the luxury of enjoying it all.
