Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
Passage by Kathryn Fenton is a small, abstracted mixed media work that represents the area of Tintagel along the rugged UK coastline.
I have been intrigued by this historic, medieval landscape for some time now and just visually it is such a spectacular place.
The carved monolithic cliffs covered in luminous green vegetation just pops against the surrounding azure blue seas.
But what interests me most is the typography of the land that is etched in bridges, tracks, caves and walkways that lends so well to mark making and the use of mixed media.
The mythology that surrounds this landscape pertains to King Arthur and his castle and in one of the caves represented in the painting is said to have been where Merlin resided.
Painted in acrylic, charcoal and collage on canvas.
