Kathryn recently embarked on a five-day plein air journey into Western NSW, and one of her most memorable landscapes were the electric yellow fields of canola on the road to Narrabri.
The wide expansive vista of distant purple/blue mountains were the complimentary colours to that incredible yellow to make the vista a knockout feast for the eyes.
This panoramic work was painted in oil applied in areas with broad palette knife strokes to enhance the texture of the crops and the fleeting clouds in particular.
