Artwork Description

This artwork is part of an ongoing series using Art Dolls to explore various themes. This particular piece explores the preciousness of,and our desire for, both material and abstract things.

The Doll Series: I am intrigued by the fine line between the doll as a sculptural art form in itself, and the idea of the Art Doll as a "toy" - to personify (to dress, add makeup, pose, admire and photograph). I change the context of the original doll images to explore a range of themes. They are engaging, yet absent: Lifeless, yet immortal. Quiet, yet loaded with emotion and symbolic intrigue.
