My practice aims to capture ephemeral moments with my models in otherworldly environments. This photograph depicts a surreal underwater scene where my model, who has light skin and blonde hair, is partially submerged in water. Her upper body and face are clearly visible, and she is wearing a white dress. The water's surface reflects her face, creating a mirror-like effect, with her face and reflection appearing almost to touch. the overall atmosphere is dreamlike, with soft lighting and gentle ripples in the water enhancing this effect. Her lips are bright red which creates a vivid contrast against her pale skin and the dark, ethereal background. This photo captures a moment of serene beauty and introspection, blurring the lines between reality and imagination.

Named after a line in John Keats's poem, "Ode to Psyche".

This portrait is a Finalist in the 2024 Percivals Photography Portrait Prize.

Taken during an underwater photo shoot at Bitter Springs, Mataranka, Northern Territory.
