The "Touch Me" series is a testament to compassion and innovation, born from the experiences of someone who has dedicated nearly a decade to the life to nursing and caring for those with sensory impairments.
After moving to the UK at the age of 13 1/2, their journey led them into the field of nursing, where they spent nine years honing their skills and expertise. A significant portion of this time was devoted to working with individuals who are sensory, hearing, or mentally impaired, providing them with the care and support they need to navigate the world.
Drawing from their firsthand experiences and deep understanding of the challenges faced by those with sensory impairments, they embarked on a creative endeavour to make art accessible to all. The result is the "Touch Me" series, a collection of tactile artworks designed specifically for the sensory impaired community.
Each piece in the series is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, allowing individuals to touch and feel the intricate textures and forms. By engaging multiple senses, these artworks transcend traditional boundaries, inviting viewers to experience art in a profoundly intimate way.
Through the "Touch Me" series, the creator bridges the gap between art and accessibility, opening up new avenues for expression and connection. This innovative approach not only enriches the lives of those with sensory impairments but also challenges conventional notions of art, reminding us that creativity knows no bounds.
TOUCH ME series is inspired by the 9 years I spent nursing as a young woman in the UK my specialty was was teaching , training and caring for very precious vulnerable people who were sensory impaired which meant they were blind or nearly blind and deaf as well as intellectual impairment. Texture was impossible we all wore a different key ring clipped to our uniforms and the same perfume daily so they could identify individual staff. I truly loved the people I cared for I created this Art for them .
