Artwork Description

“ Surrounded ny the wonders of World Heritage listed wilderness the Capertee Valley is the world’s second largest Canyon. Sandstone cliffs dominate the escarpment, drawing down into a deep chasam carved into the inviroment over millions of years. With tranquil vistas and serene mountain landscapes the Capertee Valley is abundant in flora and fauna, providing the perfect opportunity to en ouster nature in a natural environment. Under the sandstone layer stretches an enormous layer of coal and oil shale. Rising majestically out of the valley floor is a monolith in size and spectacle. The impressive peak, Pantoney’s Crown, beckons the keen walker to climb its summit. From the top is. 360 degree panorarama of the dramatic and breaking valley”

I have the great privilege to paint in Capertee Valley every year with a group of painters. Snowy Gums painting is my inspiration from the wonderful gums and escarpment ranges surrounding the area. The snow is purely from my imagination. I have tried to portray the late afternoon light with a very cold snowy, fairy tale feel.

Artist Bio

I’m a full time professional Australian Landscape and Resin Artist and also a traveller. My paintings have sold both Nationally and Internationally.

Painting from some of China's great mountain tops to The Blue Mountains, The Red Centre, Kakadu escarpments and Norfolk Island are just some of the areas where I have painted and gained inspiration for my paintings. Under the tutelage of John Wilson one of Australian's Leading Landscape Artist since 2006 I have developed into an established artist. Most years I spend two weeks in the Blue Mountains painting in such places as Capertee Valley, Megalong Valley, Hartley, Wentworth Falls, Three Sisters, Inspiration Point and also gathering material for future paintings.

Major commissions undertaken are held in the Collections of some of Darwin's leading property developers.

I am also an avid photographer having over 45,000 photos in my reference library for future paintings.

I have recently been exploring a completely new style of painting something which is very much removed from my very structured style of landscape painting. These pieces are completely unique, one offs and purely from my imagination and by my design.

Introducing Resin 😱
Popular styles and colours at the moment are blue and ocean/beaches. In my beach pieces I use sand collected from beaches from around AUSTRALIA. A very challenging medium to say the least🤣🤣🤣

My underwater Resin pieces showcasing various fish, coral , octopus, dolphin etc. These resin pieces took approximately three months to complete and what a pleasure they were.

Authenticity Certificates are attached to all paintings.

If you are visiting Darwin you are quite welcome to visit my studio again all sales will be through Bluethumb.

My large paintings will be professionally packed for transit.

Below is a lovely note from a happy customer below

“Dear Kit,

Thank you for your hand written message – you made our day. What a magnificent original piece is ‘forgotten faces’ – my husband and I absolutely love it and will treasure it always. We can appreciate how much effort has gone into this beautiful piece – thank you!! It is the highlight of our week in lockdown. We think we have located a couple of hidden faces – but will continue to study. We love the texture and depth you have created with the mixed media – and the colours are so uplifting and inspiring. We love all your work – it was hard to decide which piece – I hope our paths cross again as we grow our art collection.

Take care,

Best wishes”
