Artwork Description

Kangaroo Island Beach is a piece of Resin purely from my imagination. It has approximately six layers of Resin on it. Colours used: Dynamic Pigment Paste Phthalo Blue, Paper Mill Pearl, Colour Obsession Turquoise Sea, Liquitex ink Iridescent Bright Gold, Dynamic Pigment Paste White,Sparkle, Brilliant Blue,Paper Mill Cyan and Pearl Solutions Flash Gold. The Shells are from Kangaroo Island that I picked up on our recent Road Trip. As always with my Resin Pieces something always pop up. If you look closely in one of my marked photos you can see some little sperm eggs swimming for the life. You can control the Resin to a degree but invariably it takes on a life of its own. I throughly enjoy working with this new medium Resin. For safety reasons once the pour is completed it is left for over 24 hours in my temperature controlled Studio to cure. It is not until I go back into the Studio and wallah what have we here. This is an individual one of piece. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Kit McNeill is an Australia’s landscape artists, recognised for her evocative paintings of the Australian landscape and her ability to capture the distinctive light, colour and atmosphere of the places she paints.

McNeil’s artistic journey has been shaped by a lifelong appreciation of the Australian environment and a commitment to developing her own distinctive visual language. An important influence on her development as an artist was her time studying under renowned Australian Artist John Wilson, whose guidance and tutelage provided McNeill with valuable foundations in observation, technique and the discipline of landscape painting.

Through her work, McNeil seeks to communicate more than a literal representation of scenery. Her paintings capture the mood and character of the landscape—the changing light across the land, the atmosphere of the sky, the colours of the Australian bush and the timeless beauty of the coast and countryside.

Her work demonstrates a deep respect for the Australian landscape and a desire to share its beauty with a wider audience. Sadly freind and tutor John Wilson passed away March 2025 R.I.P my freind.
