Midnight Turtle Hatchlings on Rainbow Beach

Midnight Turtle Hatchings on Rainbow Beach is a combination of a couple of my photos of Rainbow Beach where we holiday with our Southern Family. In fact the lights on the headland are where we spent a week in December 2020. The rest of the painting is purely from my imagination. The turtles were a late addition. I have taken artistic Licence here as main area for the turtle hatching is around Bundaberg however Rainbow Beach is not that far away.

“Emerging hatchlings can be seen from mid-January until late March. Hatchlings usually leave their nests at night. In the nest, hatchlings break from their eggs within a few hours of one another. It can take them two days to reach the surface“

This is a large painting painted on professionally Stretched Canvas using Beautiful Belgium Linen.

Again as all my paintings is was an absolute pleasure to paint.
