I was gifted this large canvas for my birthday. I wasn't entirely sure what I was going to paint at first, then a spark of inspiration hit; why not try ruins? I sketched a basic outline and got stuck right in. A couple of days later and here is what happened. Not bad at all. The more I look at this one, the more I like it.

The navy-blue evening has set in, and the stars are shining up high. A waterfall in amongst a grassy ledge cascades down into a winding river below. A single tree stands tall on the green banks, its' leaves having long been swept away by the breeze.

A secret place within a dark cavern, where a red leafed tree grows. Are there others like it, perhaps somewhere nearby, or is this the only one?

The night darkens around the cold mountains, the river flows in all directions as the wind picks up. Pink blossom trees sway in the moonlight, soon to be covered in frost.

The harsh winds whip through the grey atmosphere, as silver flowers with black and gold centers, plus very delicate petals flitter around in the air, slowly making their way to the ground.
