This picture is one of the first from my Brisbane city series, painted in 2006. It shows a steamy afternoon, the city lazing on the riverbank soaking up the sun. Seen are the spans of the Victoria Bridge and the iconic Riverside Expressway, which weaves amongst mangrove trees, linking city with water. A dynamic and moody sky where forming clouds seems solid, suggests a cooling storm is on the way.
