Working from her Perth studio Laurie Cochrane's artwork reflects her surroundings....from the vast horizons, clear blue Indian Ocean and inland regions of Western Australia.
Exploring the landscape through photography is a great source of inspiration for her paintings. Painting to Laurie is a way for her to express her gratitude to the world she knows. Notions of space and colour are evident in her contemporary works.
Laurie enjoys all painting mediums and lets the subject matter select the medium. She is skilled in watercolour, encaustic wax , mix media and oil painting.
Her use of colour and painterly style have won her many awards.
