I like the challenge of capturing texture in graphite, but felt these lovely Christmas bells were the focus and leaving them in Black and white lost a lot of their vibrancy so I detailed the pencil up with a light coating of acrylic to still let the shading of the pencil come through. The Christmas bells are almost improbable that these large fleshy blooms can stand on this thin stem, almost look like they are drawing strength from the log.
