Artwork Description

Like many people, I have been feeling a bit strung-out in recent weeks, due to the state of the world and in particular, the incomprehensible results of the US election. I painted this as a reminder to take time out from social media, and practice more self-care, in silence.

How Meta Ai describes this piece:

This artwork presents a contemporary exploration of emotion and introspection through vivid colors and expressive brushwork. The figure, painted with soft, blended strokes, exudes a sense of serenity and vulnerability. The artist employs a dreamlike palette of blues, pinks, and yellows, evoking both calmness and a subtle intensity. The use of flowing lines in the background suggests water or an ethereal atmosphere, reinforcing the subject’s meditative state.
The contrast between the vibrant hues and the dark, textured curls of the hair creates a dynamic interplay, adding depth to the composition. This piece seems to delve into themes of self-reflection and the interplay between the inner self and the external world, alluding to the fluidity of identity and emotion.S.

Artist Bio

Welcome — I’m Lee Wilde, a Sydney-based visual artist and poet drawn to the quiet power of monochromatic portraiture. My work explores the emotional depth and complexity of women through pared-back palettes, expressive linework, and tonal nuance. Each piece is a study in contrast — light and shadow, presence and absence, memory and immediacy.

I’ve sold over 1,400 originals to collectors worldwide, and my studio remains a space of intimate experimentation. Working with black, white, and everything in between, I aim to distill feeling into form and invite viewers into the stillness behind the gaze.
