Dance of the Brolga’ is from Leni Kae’s “Animal Spirit” series, exploring a spiritual connection with the energy or personality of animals (particularly birdlife) and how their spirit can also capture and reflect the energy of the landscape they inhabit.
In recent times the artist has felt a personal connection to the image of a dancing Brolga – embracing the spirit of joy in life as reflected through its dance. It seems to reinforce the importance of celebrating a social and joyful spirit through dance even when alone; and feels poignant to remember in times of social isolation.
