Artwork Description

“A Galah takes flight through expressive splashes and drips of pink and grey, capturing a moment of movement, energy and release. *Galah Freedom* is a reminder to let go of what holds us back, embrace change and give ourselves permission to fly.”

*~ Leni Kae, Australian artist. Animal Spirit Series*

Watercolour and mixed media on archival paper. 42 x 59.4cm. Fits within standard A2 frame. Requires framing.

Artist Bio

Leni Kae is a Sydney-based Australian watercolour artist, author and illustrator, known for her expressive Australian bird art, Animal Spirit paintings and atmospheric abstract landscapes. Her artwork has been recognised as a finalist in numerous Australian art prizes, including the Southern Ocean Art Prize 2026, Du Rietz Art Awards 2025, Lake Art Prize 2022, Heysen Prize for Landscape 2020 and Mandorla Art Award 2020.

Inspired by nature, symbolism and inner awareness, Leni's multidisciplinary practice spans Australian bird paintings, wildlife art, abstract landscapes and Greek mythology-inspired works. Working primarily in watercolour and mixed media, she combines fluid movement, luminous colour and intuitive mark-making to explore the connections between nature and our inner experiences.

AUSTRALIAN BIRDS & ANIMAL SPIRIT

Featuring native birds including magpies, galahs, black cockatoos and kookaburras, Leni's Animal Spirit paintings explore the character and symbolism of Australian wildlife, inviting moments of reflection, connection and discovery.
